BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Knowledge of and 10 or more years’ experience in development of safety basis documents in accordance with DOE 10 CFR 830
Experience in developing nuclear safety program documentation, procedures, policies, and guidance; reviewing nuclear safety products (e.g., calculations, documented safety analyses); and assessing implementation of nuclear safety rules and requirements
Self-motivated and inquisitive to understand and evaluate “why” things are being performed the way they are and not simply knowing “what” is being done
Able to work independently
Strong communications skills and ability to interface with craft and technical personnel as well as senior DOE officials
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with solid waste management facilities
Ability to work in a remote field environment (i.e., outdoor or shutdown facilities) involving ladders, stairs, extensive walking /standing, and hazardous materials
Knowledge of DOE Savannah River Site facilities
