Responsibilities:
This position involves performing safety basis and safety analysis at various DOE sites, including the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC; Los Alamos, NM; Oak Ridge, TN; and Richland, WA.
Requirements:
U.S. Citizen; must hold or be eligible for DOE clearance
BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
Four (4) or more years’ experience in development of safety basis documents in accordance with DOE 10 CFR 830 or NRC SER process
Demonstrated experience in performance of hazard analyses in accordance with nuclear or chemical industry standards
Hands-on experience in performing accident analyses for DOE facilities using methodologies described in DOE-STD-3009, DOE-STD-3010, and DOE-STD-5506.
Experience with DOE ToolBox computer codes (e.g., MACCS2)
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong communications and writing skills
Ability to interface with technical personnel as well as senior DOE officials
Knowledge of DOE Environmental Management, Savannah River Site, or National Laboratory facilities
