To provide Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Video Streaming, Audio and Video (AV), and Web Conferencing services to DHS/ICE IT Engineering Division. Activities will include integrating and supporting VTC, video streaming, A/V, and Web Conferencing technologies. The engineer will provide for complex trouble shooting for telecommunications circuits, network, VTC codes, A/V switches, video and audio bridges, and inverse multiplexers.
Essential Functions:
The Engineer will be responsible for the site survey, requirements analysis, implementation planning, configuration, installation, integration, testing, trouble-shooting, daily technical support, and training of on-site VTC support personnel.
Requirements:
Extensive hands-on experience with H.320 VTC, H.323 VTC, Streaming Video (uni-casting & multi-casting), and Video-On-Demand (VOD) technologies. Strong IP Network, T1, and ISDN troubleshooting, video streaming and A/V knowledge and experiences preferred which including Cisco CCNA, MPLS, and Quality of Services (QOS). The engineer should have a strong network background and R&D capabilities on the latest video technologies and products.
Qualifications:
Familiar with Polycom end-point or other equivalent VTC equipment
Familiar with Polycom MGC bridge system
Hands on H.320 and H.323 experience
Strong WAN background and knowledge (T1, ISDN, F/R, ATM, MPLS)
Strong LAN experience (Router, switch, server, and workstations)
Strong video streaming knowledge; uni-casting, multi-casting, and video on demand (VOD)
Must be willing to travel for VTC installations and site surveys
Prerequisites:
Bachelor degree in IT related field and 8+ years of IT or Telecommunication experience. Education can be substituted with equivalent years of working experience.
