Battelle Memorial Institute- Pacific Northwest Division (PNWD) PNWD operates the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a DOE research facility that advances the fundamental understanding of complex systems, and provides science-based solutions to some of the nation's most pressing challenges in national security, energy, and environmental quality. PNNL includes management and operation of the 325 Laboratory (a Category II nuclear facility), which has provided analytical services and process development support for the Hanford environmental management mission for many years.
