Emergency Preparedness

ATL's emergency preparedness and safety consultants have developed numerous plans for a variety of industries and for different threat/exposure scenarios to effectively protect our client's personnel and assets. We have worked with our clients to develop a plan of action that fits their organization, exposures, and their local environment and community. Key elements in our emergency preparedness process include:

  • Systems engineering to determine significant threats, hazards, and exposures such as chemical spills and releases, fire and explosion, flooding, or neighboring exposures.
  • Analysis of each threat, hazard, or exposure for anticipated and ultimate impacts including injury, loss or damage of affected areas of a facility, and the effects on surrounding areas.
  • Preparation of integrated action plans including the warning and communications systems, duties and responsibilities for company personnel, spill containment, fire control, first aid, rescue, coordination with governmental agencies and other non-company local services, identification and inventory of onsite and standby equipment and material used in emergency condition, recovery and/or salvage plan, site control, press and public communication and coordination, and public relations.
  • Development of customer-based tabletop training.
  • Management of drills and exercises.

ATL has conducted evaluations of laboratories, industrial buildings, and other high-risk facilities. ATL has extensive knowledge of OSHA and National Fire Protection Association requirements, and can perform fire hazard analyses and develop fire protection strategies for protecting research and manufacturing facilities.

We perform evaluations of existing buildings and occupancy conditions, assess exit and egress facilities, and evaluate environmental conditions that may impact fire safety. We also review design plans to assure a coordinated agreement with fire protection concepts and building code requirements.
